Straight, no chaser
Frank Sinatra wasn't the only entertainer to do things his way. There are those who play by the rules and others who break them to create their own.Richard Pryor was one of those entertainers.
Stand-up comedy is a tradition that's American as apple pie. The true greats are able to sharpen their skills by rising above mere fluff like 101 reasons not to shtup your wife and silly gag reels. The cream of the crop are astute social observers, who know just the right balance to strike so while we're brought to tears with laughter, the truth was slipped in along the way.
"[He] was the Rosa Parks of comedy," said Chris Rock, in a statement. "He took risks and chances that made it possible for a whole generation of comics to exist. No one ever rocked the mike like Richard Pryor."And as the undisputed G.O.A.T. of the stage, no one ever will.
